Quality Control
Built Into Every Weld
At Atlas Chem Feb, quality is not a final inspection step — it is integrated into every phase of manufacturing. From inward material verification to dispatch documentation, our 6-stage QC workflow ensures full compliance with ASME, IBR, and client-specific standards.

Our Multi-Stage QC Workflow
From raw material procurement to final dispatch — how we guarantee error-free fabrication at every step.
Inward Quality Check
Material Verification & MTC Check
All raw materials — plates, pipes, flanges — are verified against Mill Test Certificates (MTCs) and inspected for physical integrity. Critical metallurgies are dispatched to NABL-accredited laboratories for independent chemical and physical analysis before any fabrication begins.
Pre-Fabrication Control
Heat Number Transfer & Cutting
Before cutting, the unique heat number is transferred onto every cut piece, ensuring 100% material traceability back to the parent manufacturer. This prevents grade mixing and guarantees certified metallurgy at every stage of build-up.
In-Process Quality Check
Fit-Up & Shell Fabrication
Shell circularity, plate alignment, and weld-joint fit-ups are strictly monitored by our QA supervisor. We follow qualified welding procedures (WPS) and welder qualification records (WQR) per ASME Section IX throughout the entire fabrication sequence.
Weld Quality Check
Dye Penetrant (DP) Testing
All pressure joints undergo Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT) to detect surface cracks, pinholes, or porosity. Any defective areas are ground out and re-welded using qualified procedures before re-testing confirms acceptance.
Final Integrity Check
Hydrostatic Pressure Testing
The fabricated vessel or exchanger is filled with clean water and pressurized using a calibrated hydrostatic pump. Pressure is held for a minimum of 30 minutes to verify weld strength and seal integrity. Test certificates are counter-signed by inspectors and included in the dispatch documentation.
Surface Quality Check
Surface Finish & RA Check
For pharmaceutical-grade equipment, surface roughness is verified using a digital RA meter. We achieve and document required surface finishes (e.g. RA < 0.4 µm) via automated mechanical and electro-polishing, with documented results in the final QA/QC dossier.
Full QA/QC Dossier: Every shipped unit is accompanied by MTC originals, welding records, DPT reports, hydrostatic test certificates, dimensional inspection reports, and packing lists — all countersigned by our QA engineer. Request a sample dossier →
Metrology Registry
Calibrated Testing Instruments
All QC measurements are taken with certified instruments traceable to national and international standards.
Digital Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge
CalibratedVerification of shell, plate, and head thicknesses before, during, and after fabrication to confirm compliance with design wall thickness.
Calibrated Analog & Digital Pressure Gauges
CalibratedUsed during hydrostatic testing to ensure exact test pressures are achieved and sustained throughout the hold period.
Digital Roughness Tester (RA Meter)
CalibratedVerifies surface roughness of internally polished tubes and shells for pharmaceutical-grade applications requiring RA < 0.4 µm.
Hydrostatic Testing Hand & Power Pumps
CalibratedUsed to inject test media and achieve sustained pressure levels up to 30 kg/cm² with precision pressure relief valve protection.
Calibrated Vernier Calipers & Micrometers
CalibratedUsed to measure nozzle diameters, flange thicknesses, and shell dimensions against approved engineering drawings.
Verification Audits
Third-Party Inspections
We regularly work with renowned third-party inspection agencies (TPIAs) nominated by our clients to independently verify materials, witness hydrostatic tests, review welding records, and audit quality files prior to dispatch.
Material Witnessing
TPIAs independently witness material verification at our facility or at the steel mill for large-quantity orders.
Hydrotest Witness
Third-party inspectors are invited to witness and countersign hydrostatic test certificates before dispatch clearance.
Final Dimensional Audit
Full dimensional inspection against approved GADs is conducted and certified by the nominated TPIA before shipping.
Accepted TPIA Agencies
We accept any client-nominated agency not listed above. Contact us to confirm scheduling prior to production completion.
